Broadband coverage versus speed
Ofcom Connected Nations describes whether a service is available. It does not guarantee the speed inside the house.
Ofcom collects coverage from operators and publishes it twice a year. A postcode can show gigabit or superfast availability and still disappoint on a Thursday evening.
Availability, not a package
Coverage is not price, not a contract, and not in-home wiring.
How to use it
Treat official coverage as the starting point for whether an area is served, then check a retailer and, if it matters, a test at the property.
Rural and urban availability still differ. The Area Score reads similar kinds of place against each other rather than pretending they share one network.
